To celebrate the 81st anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), Ho Chi Minh City organizes a series of cultural, artistic, exhibition and historical reenactment programs from mid-August to September 5.
Notably, the art fireworks display program took place on the evening of September 2nd to serve people and tourists during the holiday. 7 fireworks display points include 3 high-altitude combined low-altitude points and 4 low-altitude points.
3 high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks locations:
- Area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel, An Khanh ward.
- New City Center area, Binh Duong ward.
- Tam Thang Tower Square area, Vung Tau ward.
4 low-altitude fireworks locations:
- Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria Ward.
- Dam Sen Cultural Park, Binh Thoi ward.
- Saigon Marina IFC Tower, Saigon Ward.
- Kim Long Villa Area (Rach Dia Bridge), Nha Be commune.
Fireworks display time at 7 locations from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM on September 2.
Among the above points, the area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel has the largest scale with 1,000 high-altitude fireworks, 200 low-altitude fireworks, 60 G25 platforms and 30 DBG platforms.
In addition to fireworks displays, on the evening of September 2nd, Ho Chi Minh City organized art performances from 7:30 PM in the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area, the outdoor stage of the New City Central Park and Ba Ria Square Park. Art performances were also deployed in many wards, communes and special zones.
This year's National Day, Ho Chi Minh City will deploy a series of cultural and artistic activities lasting until September 5. From August 19, the city will organize city-level exhibitions at Chi Lang Park - Dong Khoi street area, No. 1 Ba Cu street and Nguyen Du street park.
At the Youth Cultural House, Labor Culture Palace, Women's Cultural House and cultural and sports centers in wards, communes and special zones, many images and documents are also displayed.
The city also organizes an exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum and displays documents and images at Nguyen Van Binh Book Street.
In order to meet the increasing travel demand during the holidays, Ho Chi Minh City exempts Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) tickets on September 2nd, along with 134 bus routes being exempted from tickets.
Accordingly, Metro Line 1 increased from 228 to 264 trips/day during the holidays, and at the same time extended the operating time to 11 pm instead of 10 pm as usual. The bus network is expected to have 156 routes with about 19,245 trips/day, an increase of about 8% compared to the same period. Among them, 10 routes have increased trips with 761 additional trips.
It is expected that public passenger transport in Ho Chi Minh City during the holidays will reach an average of about 280,000 passengers/day, an increase of about 29% compared to the same period.
