On the 3rd day of Binh Ngo Tet, the Open Heaven Gate Spring Festival 2026 officially opens its doors to visitors at Sun World Fansipan Legend (Sa Pa, Lao Cai). On the first day, the spring festival attracted thousands of Buddhists and pilgrims from all directions gathering in the Thanh Van Dac Lo area to participate in meaningful spiritual rituals.
In a solemn atmosphere, visitors respectfully perform the ritual of offering flowers, bathing Buddha and chanting sutras to pray for national peace and prosperity, wishing for a new year of all things smooth and favorable. All tourists and Buddhists attending the opening ceremony were given lucky salt bags from monks and nuns as a lucky gift on the occasion of the new year.

A large number of Buddhists and tourists participate in the Ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity to send peaceful wishes and good wishes for themselves, their families, and the country in the new year. The focus of attracting tourists is the Open Heaven Gate Spring Festival 2026, where tourists can immerse themselves in the vibrant Northwest cultural flow with a series of traditional festivals elaborately recreated.
Accordingly, the Gau Tao Festival of the H'Mong people (from the 3rd to the 5th day of Tet) will kick off a series of festivals with a unique Neu tree erecting ritual and solemn prayers praying for a bumper crop. The attraction of the festival part also lies in folk games full of laughter such as blindfolded duck catching, stilt walking or grass pole climbing, helping visitors have relaxing and refreshing moments amidst majestic nature.

Although it was dusty and foggy in the early morning, the festival atmosphere was still very bustling, attracting a large number of tourists from all over. Radiant smiles and the bustling atmosphere at Ban May created an energetic and exciting Binh Ngo New Year start at Sun World Fansipan Legend.
This is the 3rd time my family has chosen Fansipan to start the new year. Not only to worship and pray for peace in the majestic spiritual space, we are also very excited to immerse ourselves in the local festivals in Ban May. The feeling of touching upland culture and participating in folk games is really rich in emotions and excitement" - Mr. Xuan Minh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared.

Especially, this Binh Ngo Tet holiday, tourists will have the opportunity to witness the Flag Raising Ceremony, lasting from February 19 to February 22, marking the proud and sacred moment of the beginning of the new year on the "Roof of Indochina".
After the Gau Tao Festival, the Xen Ban Xen Muong Festival of the Thai people will take place from February 28 to March 1, opening up a colorful festival space with a ceremony recreating the ritual of the shaman offering offerings to respectfully thank the river god, the mountain god and pray for favorable weather and bumper crops.
