Da Nang conquers Japanese tourists with the "Touching the Original" journey

Da Nang promotes tourism in Tokyo, introducing cultural, natural and resort products to attract more Japanese tourists.

On June 18, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a program to introduce Da Nang tourism in Tokyo (Japan), with the theme "Touching the Original".

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Japan is one of the key international tourist markets and has stable growth in Da Nang's tourism industry.

In 2025, the total number of Japanese visitors to Da Nang reached 291,170, accounting for 3.8% of the total number of international visitors and ranking 8th in the top 10 international markets in the city. In the first 5 months of 2026, the number of Japanese visitors continued to reach nearly 164,317, accounting for 3.65% of the total number of international visitors, affirming itself as a key market for Da Nang tourism.

In addition, the expansion of direct routes between Da Nang and Tokyo (Narita), Osaka and Nagoya has contributed to strongly promoting tourism, trade and cultural exchange between the two countries.

This is also an important foundation for Da Nang to continue to promote tourism promotion activities in Japan in the period 2025-2026, aiming to enhance the city's position on the international tourism map.

Following the new tourism trend in Japan, tourists are increasingly prioritizing health & healing, slow travel, experiencing original culture, nature tourism, long-term stay, and emotional journeys, connecting with people and locals.

This is also the new development direction of Da Nang tourism in the current period. Not only known as a dynamic coastal city with a high-class resort system, golf and modern tourism infrastructure, Da Nang today also expands its experience space with the unique cultural ecosystem, heritage and nature of Central Vietnam.

In the coming time, Da Nang city's tourism industry will identify focusing on high-quality, sustainable and culturally rich product lines.

The city will continue to promote and deepen the communication campaign in organizing the "Touching the Original" program in Tokyo, which will bring images and colors of Da Nang tourism to the Japanese tourism market with 5 main themes (5 touch points), bringing visitors deep and sophisticated perspectives.

Through the message "Touching the Original", Da Nang city's tourism industry wants to shift its focus from purely sightseeing trips to in-depth experiential journeys.

Here, visitors will be awakened to all senses to deeply connect with core values: from the ups and downs of unique traditional craft villages, the quintessence of sophisticated local cuisine, to the cultural space and pristine nature preserved intact.

Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center is ready to accompany and cooperate with travel agencies, tourism businesses, press agencies and content creators at home and abroad to promote Da Nang destination to Japanese tourists, through practical support activities.

Through this program, Da Nang tourism industry expects to continue to expand cooperation with Japanese businesses in the fields of: developing specialized tourism products, high-class resort tourism, wellness tourism, golf tourism, MICE, school tourism, cultural tourism, and strengthening two-way visitor exchange.
