Recently, online travel platform Agoda announced aggregated data from one-way air ticket bookings in the period from March to May 2026, applicable to flights departing from June to August 2026. The announced price includes taxes, fees and reflects the lowest ticket price recorded at the time of the survey.
In the domestic market, the Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa route tops the list with ticket prices starting from about 627,000 VND. According to Agoda, this coastal city is an attractive choice for many tourists thanks to its beautiful coastline, peaceful pace of life and relatively accessible travel costs.
The next positions are Da Nang - Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang and Tam Ky - Ho Chi Minh City with the same price of about 653,000 VND. The Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon route ranks fifth with prices from 679,000 VND.
These reasonable air routes are assessed as contributing to expanding choices for tourists in the summer, especially with sea and urban destinations that are popular.
In the international route group, Ho Chi Minh City - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) leads with ticket prices from about 888,000 VND. This is also the lowest price among international routes departing from Vietnam recorded by Agoda this summer.
The next routes include Ho Chi Minh City - Johor Bahru (Malaysia) from 1.175 million VND; Ho Chi Minh City - Singapore from 1.227 million VND; Da Nang - Kuala Lumpur from 1.279 million VND and Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok (Don Mueang, Thailand) from 1.331 million VND.
According to Agoda, destinations in Southeast Asia continue to maintain their appeal thanks to short travel time, reasonable costs and convenient entry procedures. In particular, Kuala Lumpur is not only a cultural, shopping and culinary center of Malaysia but also a convenient transit point to explore famous beaches, heritage neighborhoods and tropical forests of this country.
Notably, after many months of maintaining at a high level, airfares on many domestic routes have decreased by about 10-15% since the beginning of June. Airlines are expanding low-cost ticket bundles and promoting stimulus programs in the context that summer travel demand this year appeared later than the same period last year.
According to tourism businesses, if in previous years many families had planned summer vacations from the end of April, this year, the psychology of waiting for reduced ticket prices has slowed down the number of service bookings. The return of many cheap ticket classes by airlines is expected to contribute to promoting travel and tourism demand during the summer peak of 2026.
