Da Nang tourism continued to record growth momentum in the first months of 2026 when the number of visitors, revenue and transportation activities all increased compared to the same period last year.

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in May 2026, Da Nang welcomed about 1.78 million overnight visitors, an increase of 28.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, international visitors reached 872,000, an increase of 31.1%; domestic visitors reached 906,000, an increase of 26.9%.
In general, in the first 5 months of the year, the total number of overnight visitors reached about 7.74 million, an increase of 20.9% compared to the same period last year. Of which, international visitors reached 4.18 million, an increase of 23.6%; domestic visitors reached 3.55 million, an increase of 17.9%.
The number of overnight visitors continues to maintain a high increase. In May, the number of overnight visitors reached about 1.6 million, an increase of 33.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Accumulated in the first 5 months of the year reached 7 million, an increase of 23.7%.
Regarding the structure of the international visitor market in May, South Korea continued to be the largest market with more than 130,800 visitors, accounting for 18.35% of the total number of international visitors to the city.
China ranked second with more than 75,500 visitors, accounting for 10.6%, followed by India with more than 64,100 visitors, accounting for 9%. In addition, the markets of Taiwan (China), Japan, Australia, Philippines, Thailand, the United States and Russia continued to contribute significantly in terms of visitors. The Russian market alone recorded more than 28,600 visitors in the month.

Along with the growth in the number of passengers, transportation to Da Nang also recorded many positive signs.
In May, the total number of domestic and international flights to the city reached about 4,600, an increase of 11.7% compared to the same period last year. On average, there are 148 flights to Da Nang per day, an increase of 15 flights/day compared to 2025.
In which, international routes recorded more than 1,900 flights, an increase of 17%, connecting Da Nang with 21 regular routes to many markets such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan (China), Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, UAE and Laos.
Notably, on May 23, 2026, the first flight from Moscow (Russian Federation) operated by Anex Vietnam in coordination with Vietjet Air landed in Da Nang with 377 passengers.
In addition to aviation, inland waterway tourists in the month reached about 251,000 visitors, while railway tourists reached more than 125-130 visitors.
In specialized tourism segments, golf tourism reached about 26,375 golf courses in May, an increase of 2.4% compared to the same period in 2025. Wedding tourism recorded 4 international wedding events. MICE tourism welcomed 21 groups of guests with nearly 9,147 visitors, including more than 6,800 international visitors.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services in May is estimated at 6,066 billion VND, an increase of 27.5% compared to the same period last year. Accumulated in the first 5 months of the year, it reached about 25,965 billion VND, an increase of 20.1%. Travel service revenue reached about 411 billion VND in the month, an increase of 6.4%; accumulated in the first 5 months, it reached about 1,776 billion VND, an increase of 7.2%.
In May, Da Nang organized many cultural, sports and tourism events such as Da Nang Food Tour 2026, IRONMAN 70. 3 Vietnam, Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Program No. 22 and Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026.
The city also implements international market promotion activities, seminars to approach Chinese tourists through the Xiaohongshu platform and welcomes famtrips from the CIS market to promote destinations.
