According to the People's Committee of Dong Van commune, affected by storm No. 11, prolonged heavy rain seeping water into the ground caused serious landslides on National Highway 4C, specifically the road leading to the center of Dong Van commune.
Early in the morning of October 8, a block of rocks and soil fell from the mountainside, completely collapsing the welcome gate. The incident occurred when there were no people passing by, so there were no casualties.

At noon of the same day, local authorities quickly mobilized militia and police to clear the scene to ensure traffic safety.
Mr. Nguyen The Doan, a resident of Ha Giang, shared that on October 8, the sun was up in Dong Van. At around 12 noon, the collapsed welcome gate was dismantled. However, the road section through the gate of Dong Van village shows signs of cracking rocks and soil from above, so there is still a risk of landslides.
Currently, Dong Van Commune Police have assigned forces to guide vehicles on bypasses, not allowing people and vehicles to pass through the welcome gate area because there is still a high risk of landslides.

Previously, in Dong Van commune, heavy rain lasting from October 7 to the morning of October 8, combined with the amount of water accumulated from storm No. 10 Bualoi, caused dozens of landslides on traffic routes.
The welcome gate of Dong Van commune was inaugurated in November 2024 with a width of 10.5m and a height of 6.3m. The gate was built with 740 stone blocks weighing 18.5m3 and the roof was covered with 26,000 yin-yang tiles.
