In Vietnam, the supermoon with absolute roundness will appear at 9:34 am on September 18. Therefore, on the night of September 17 - the full moon night of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the early morning of September 18, people and tourists can see the supermoon at its most beautiful state.
Tonight (September 17), the supermoon will reach a roundness of more than 99%, the naked eye will hardly detect the difference compared to a supermoon that is absolutely full.

In particular, the Mid-Autumn Festival nights of September 17 and 18 are also the last opportunity for people and tourists to see the burnt orange supermoon this year.
Burnt orange moons are a common summer phenomenon. When the moon hangs low in the early evening, it appears larger and more orange than usual through the thick atmosphere. This is a phenomenon called a “moon mirage,” not an actual change in the moon’s color.
The Burnt Orange Moon usually appears between May and September, with the darkest orange color usually occurring in August. By midnight, the moon will return to its true color.
Therefore, if the weather is nice, you will have the opportunity to see the most beautiful burnt orange supermoon in the early evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival today (September 17).
On the other hand, people and tourists in many countries in the Americas, all of Europe, Africa and some Asian countries can observe the phenomenon of "penumbral lunar eclipse" from 7:31 to 11:14 am on September 18 (Vietnam time). This phenomenon occurs when the moon enters the brighter outer region of the Earth's shadow, called the penumbra.
In addition to the supermoon tonight and September 18, Vietnamese people have another chance to see the supermoon this year, on the evening of October 17.
