In mid-September, Tuyen Quang streets become bustling, giant colorful lantern models parade the streets, attracting a large number of people and tourists.
On central roads, a series of models move amidst a sea of people, creating a unique feature for the Thanh Tuyen Festival. Each model carries its own mark, historical stories, and cultural features of local people.
Ms. Le Thanh Lien (Minh Xuan ward, Tuyen Quang province) said that Tuyen Mid-Autumn Festival has a unique feature that is not confused with any other place.
Not just a normal holiday, Mid-Autumn Festival here has a long-standing cultural identity, people unite and blend into the festive atmosphere.
Mid-Autumn Festival in Tuyen Quang lasts for a whole month, street parades on weekend evenings are very lively. Hopefully, it will leave many memories in the hearts of tourists," Ms. Lien said.
Also according to Ms. Lien, to add more meaning, people contributed, came up with ideas, framed, shaped, and installed lighting systems for Mid-Autumn lanterns. Each person does one thing, joining hands to create unique models of the community.
Going to Tuyen Quang with his family to celebrate, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh (from Thai Nguyen) said: "Taking advantage of the weekend days, I took my children to Tuyen Quang Mid-Autumn Festival.
The atmosphere is really lively, the unique models make the children very excited. The people here are also very hospitable, so they have many good experiences.
The 2026 Thanh Tuyen Festival will be held from September 19th to September 25th with a series of unique cultural, artistic, tourism, and sports activities.
The highlight is the 2026 Thanh Tuyen Night Festival, taking place from 8 pm on September 20th at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square.
The festival night will open in the bustling atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival with lion and dragon dances. Next is the art program "Lung linh dem hoi trang ram" with the participation of many artists.
Especially the parade of 40 excellent models selected from the model contest of the central wards of the province.
Colorful Mid-Autumn models not only create a unique festival space of Thanh Tuyen but are also the result of creativity, joint efforts and contributions from the people.
In addition to the highlight being the festival night, from September 19th to September 25th, Tuyen Quang also organizes many activities creating a rich chain of experiences for people and tourists.
Thanh Tuyen Festival was first held in 2004. Then it was scaled up to provincial level in 2014 and has since become a unique cultural event of Tuyen Quang province and is known as the largest Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam.
