During the holiday series of Hung Kings Commemoration Day, April 30 - May 1 and towards the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7), the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield historical sites are attracting a large number of visitors.
Every year from March to May, the time of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Hill A1 attracts thousands of domestic and international tourists to visit.


72 years ago, when the Dien Bien Phu Campaign entered its decisive phase, Hill A1 was the place where the fiercest battles took place. Today, this relic has become a tourist attraction attracting thousands of people.
Hill A1 (called Eliane 2 by the French army) is a solid stronghold belonging to the system of eastern defensive highpoints of the central sub-zone of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold Group. Right at the foot of the hill is the National Martyrs' Cemetery A1.



The highlight that captivates visitors when coming to Hill A1 is the flamboyant trees that are blooming red.
In the flow of people visiting Hill A1, there are veterans returning to visit the old battlefield, there are young people learning about history, and there are also people who yearn to set foot in Dien Bien Phu once.


From Lao Cai province to Dien Bien, Ms. Trieu Thi Bien (62 years old) was moved when she witnessed historical relics with her own eyes for the first time.
I have dreamed for a long time, today I came to Dien Bien. After visiting the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum and Hill A1, I felt the fierceness of the war and the steadfast fighting determination of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the past," she said.


According to the Dien Bien Provincial Relic Management Board, it is expected to welcome a large number of tourists to visit and commemorate during the series of major holidays of the country.
Previously, officials and employees of the Provincial Relic Management Board in coordination with soldiers of Regiment 741 - Provincial Military Command had implemented environmental landscape improvement, cleaning, pruning ornamental plants, flower garden care, collection and treatment of waste.


Renovation activities are concentrated at relic sites belonging to the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Historical Relic such as: Hill A1, Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument (Hill D1), Him Lam Resistance Center, De Cat Tunnel and Martyrs' Temple at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield...
