Meet the super-rich VIPs visiting Vietnam in 2024

In 2024, Vietnam's tourism industry will welcome many super-rich and world-famous tourists such as Bill Gates, Jensen Huang, Tim Cook...

In early March 2024, billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his girlfriend stayed at a luxurious 5-star resort in Son Tra district, Da Nang city.

This was a personal vacation so the schedule and photos of him and his girlfriend were not disclosed. They flew directly on a private Gulfstream G650ER. During the trip, the couple enjoyed tea and watched the sunset at Ban Co peak with artist Hoang Anh Suong.

After Bill Gates visited, Ban Co Peak became a popular destination and attracted more and more international visitors.

At the end of May, Swiss tennis player Roger Federer visited Da Nang and stayed at a 5-star resort in Dien Ban district, about 6km from Hoi An ancient town.

The world tennis legend visited the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills tourist area, strolled along the Hoai River in Hoi An and did not forget to play tennis at the resort's own court.

In October, Da Nang welcomed a group of 50 billionaires on 5 of the most luxurious and expensive Gulfstream aircraft in the world. The fleet of private jets carrying 50 billionaire customers from all over the world and Gulfstream's operating partners gathered in Da Nang to attend the annual customer conference of this aircraft brand.

In addition, in 2024, many Da Nang resorts were consecutively chosen by wealthy Indians as wedding venues with 200-500 guests lasting for many days.

In April, Apple CEO Tim Cook had a 2-day business trip and stayed at the 5-star Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel in Hanoi.

He enjoyed a private meal at the French restaurant Le Beaulieu, drank egg coffee and chatted with singers My Linh and My Anh. Despite his busy schedule, the world-famous CEO still took time to stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and interact with fans.

In addition, Tim Cook met many Vietnamese content creators and programmers. The trip was short but left him with the impression that “Vietnam is a vibrant and beautiful country”.

In late August and early September, Indian billionaire Dilip Shanghvi, owner of Sun Pharmaceutical and the 13th richest man in Asia, took 4,500 employees on a tour of Vietnam.

The group of tourists from the largest pharmaceutical corporation in India divided into 6 small groups to travel to Hanoi - Ha Long - Ninh Binh in batches.

They visited Hoa Lo Prison, Temple of Literature in Hanoi, went to Ninh Binh to experience a boat trip to see Trang An, and at the end of the journey, explored the world heritage site of Ha Long Bay.

Jensen Huang, a Taiwanese-American billionaire, came to Hanoi in early December on a business trip. Mixing his work schedule with technology events, the Nvidia CEO also had time to stroll around the city, meet people, and enjoy street food such as pho, draft beer, egg coffee, etc.

He often appears in a simple image with jeans, T-shirts and does not hesitate to eat at sidewalk restaurants.

This is not the first time Jensen Huang has been to Hanoi. The first time was in December 2023, he went on a food tour and was very excited about Vietnamese food.
