The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province said that during the 5 holidays on April 30 and May 1, the province welcomed 60,100 tourists, including 13,500 tourists with accommodation.
Total revenue from tourism activities reached 182 billion VND; room occupancy rate reached over 56%.
To ensure the holiday is safe and convenient for tourists and people, the Department has requested the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and tourism service businesses in the area to develop plans to ensure safety, security, order, and fire prevention.
In particular, strictly implement legal regulations related to tourism activities, publicly post prices, sell at the correct listed prices for products and services; publicize hotline numbers to receive feedback and recommendations from tourists.
On this year's occasion, the Department has successfully advised on organizing a special art program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
It is expected that on May 7, the Department will coordinate to organize the Flag-raising ceremony and inaugurate the A Pa Chai flagpole; inaugurate Muong Thanh Luxury Dien Bien Hotel.
Previously, in the first quarter of 2025, the number of tourists reached 426,100, down 3.29% over the same period in 2024, reaching 29.4% of the plan.
Of which, international visitors reached 3,993, an increase of 21.6%, reaching 1.33% of the plan. Total revenue from tourism activities reached VND 768 billion, down 1.2% over the same period last year, reaching 32% of the plan.
