According to Lao Dong, on the afternoon of January 2, the atmosphere at historical sites such as: A1 Hill, Dien Bien Phu Commandery (Do- Cat tunnel), A1 Martyrs' Cemetery, and the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu battlefield was always bustling with people passing by.

In particular, the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum also recorded a high number of visitors. At the Panorama painting exhibition area "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" inside the Museum, on January 2, many visitors still have to jostle and queue up waiting for their turn to visit this masterpiece.

Many tourists from distant provinces also choose Dien Bien as their destination, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thong (64 years old, from Quang Ninh province) said that this is the second time returning to this historic land, after his first trip in 2017.
"This time coming back, I find Dien Bien much more beautiful and developed. As a person who served in the army during the period of 1980-1985 and saw with his own eyes the places and historical relics like this, it was really touching" - Mr. Thong said.
Mr. Thong also said that he took advantage of the 5th holiday to visit Muong Phang Historical Site, A1 Hill, Do- Cat Cave...

While visiting the A1 Hill relic with her family, Ms. Lo Thi Xuan (Pmem Lot commune, Dien Bien district) said: "Every year, on the occasion of the April 30 and May 7, my family takes our children and grandchildren to visit the relics."
According to Ms. Xuan, this is an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the heroic history of the nation, so they feel very proud. "Although we arrived at Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument at 8am and the weather was quite hot, the children were still very excited to explore it" - Ms. Xuan said.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet Nga - Director of Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, confirmed that the number of visitors increased sharply during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
"In just the first 2 days of the holiday, the museum welcomed nearly 4,300 visitors. We estimate that for the entire 5 days off, this number could reach nearly 10,000" - Ms. Nga informed.
According to Ms. Nga, the large number of visitors includes ethnic minorities in the province and tourists from all over the country. In particular, the policy of reducing ticket prices by 50% for Dien Bien people, along with extended holidays, has created favorable conditions for people to visit and learn about history.

To best serve visitors during peak times, the Museum has proactively renovated the landscape and campus, ensuring environmental sanitation and security and order. Human resources are mobilized to the maximum, increased in all positions.
In particular, in response to the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the museum has also renovated the campus, creating a solemn and meaningful atmosphere for visitors - Ms. Nga emphasized.
According to the Dien Bien Provincial Monuments Management Board, in the first 2 days of the holiday, the system of relic sites managed by the unit alone (including the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum) welcomed nearly 9,500 visitors.
