According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on January 29, the Binh Ngo Tet mascot was just erected at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu ward, Dien Bien province.
This is also the first time Dien Bien province has had a mascot during the Lunar New Year for many years.
The mascot received many compliments for its majestic beauty but no less softness. Talking to reporters, Mr. Pham Duc Viet - the person in charge of designing and constructing the mascot said that to create the work, the crew had to work for about 15 days.

The statue has impressive dimensions with a height of 3m, a length of 2.5m and a width of 1.5m. The author used foam material to create blocks, then meticulously covered it with decorative paint to ensure durability and outdoor aesthetics.
Mr. Viet said about the artistic idea: "The image of a golden horse kicking white clouds (phi van) not only expresses sublimation but also symbolizes prosperity, carrying the meaning of wealth and fortune to every household in the new year".

The special highlight of the mascot lies in the harmonious combination of strength and flexibility. Viewers can feel the strength through the posture, but also see the softness through details such as the mane and tail of the horse winding as if flying in the wind.
Right on the first day the mascot was displayed, people and tourists came to admire and take "check-in" photos.
To serve the viewing needs of people in the evening, an lighting system is also installed, helping the mascot become shimmering and prominent in the center of Dien Bien Phu ward.

Present at the Square, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (Dien Bien Phu ward) said: "This year is the first year the province has mascots displayed for Tet. The image of the horse is made very beautifully, looking both majestic and soulful." Ms. Nga also hopes that the new year the province will have many breakthroughs in economy and tourism.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the appearance of the horse mascot not only contributes to embellishing the urban appearance of Dien Bien to become more brilliant, but also brings a spring atmosphere, sending wishes for luck, peace, and development in the new year Binh Ngo 2026.
