Identifying unique tourism products for Vietnamese cities

On March 28, a regional conference of the Global cities Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO) in 2025 was held in Hanoi to honor Vietnamese members.

The event was attended by the General Secretary and members of the Secretariat; Representatives of Vietnam's TPO member cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Vung Tau, Long An; Representatives of a number of tourism businesses, tourism associations...

Ms. Kang Da-eun, TPO Secretary General, expressed her confidence that this event will further promote the closer relationship between TPO members and the tourism industry in Vietnam.

The thematic discussion on shaping unique tourism products will be an important foundation for members to enhance the tourism competitiveness of Vietnamese member cities. This session provides an opportunity for TPO members to share in-depth perspectives on how to effectively position destinations and markets, said Ms. Kang.

The 2025 TPO Regional Conference is an opportunity for Hanoi and member cities to strengthen cooperation, promote exchanges and tourism promotion, and contribute to bringing the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world. Thereby, the event affirms the important role of TPO in promoting global tourism, connecting cities and building a sustainable, creative and developing tourism.

Hanoi's hosting of this conference affirms the positive role of the capital in connecting and developing sustainable tourism.

Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, affirmed: In the context of the global tourism industry recovering and continuing to develop strongly after the impacts of the recent pandemic, strengthening connections, expanding cooperation and constantly innovating tourism products are key factors to help cities improve competitiveness, attract tourists and create sustainable growth momentum.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism said that the city expects the TPO Secretariat to have more practical activities to enhance the connection between cities of Korea and cities of Vietnam.

In recent times, Hanoi has focused resources on increasing promotion and advertising in key markets, in which Korea is one of the potential markets. Hanoi tourism products are very suitable for this tourist market such as: golf tourism, resort tourism, MICE tourism, cultural tourism, history...

The conference took place with many presentations sharing the experience of tourism promotion of TPO members, experts' opinions on shaping unique tourism products, enhancing the attractiveness of Vietnamese cities.

On the sidelines of the conference, delegates also visited the exhibition area, introduced Hanoi tourism, introduced products, publications, gifts for Hanoi tourism, outstanding OCOP products of the capital serving tourism...

On this occasion, delegates also participated in the city tour program to visit Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Museum of Ethnology and survey some tourist attractions in Hanoi.

TPO (Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities) is a major tourism organization headquartered in Busan, South Korea. TPO operates with the main purpose of promoting the development and prosperity of member cities through cooperation between cities in the tourism sector.

The organization has 137 member cities in 16 countries. To date, Vietnam has 8 provinces and cities that are members of TPO, including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Da Lat, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Long An, Vung Tau. Hanoi City officially joined TPO in 2008.
