On January 9, Hue City Department of Tourism coordinated with Chan May Port Joint Stock Company to organize a program to welcome the first cruise ship and tourists to Hue City by sea in 2025.
The cruise ship Anthem of the Seas, a Bahamas cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean, carrying 4,455 British, Australian, American, etc. tourists, docked at 7:00 a.m. and departed at 8:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
At the welcoming program, the leaders of Hue City People's Committee warmly welcomed, presented flowers and gifts to the first tourists to Hue City by sea in 2025, along with a joyful and bustling lion dance performance to welcome the new year. The leaders of Hue City People's Committee also gave special souvenirs to the captain and crew.
This is one of the activities to celebrate the New Year and launch a series of events and tourism activities of Hue City in 2025, while creating an impression for tourists of an attractive, safe, friendly and hospitable destination. Thereby, continuing to strengthen communication to promote Hue tourism destinations, products and services to attract tourists, especially cruise tourists.

According to information from Chan May Port, in 2024, 41 cruise ships will dock, bringing more than 90,000 passengers and crew members to Hue. To date, 49 cruise ships carrying nearly 99,998 passengers and 39,212 crew members have registered to dock at Chan May Port in 2025.
According to the Hue City Department of Tourism, in 2024, the tourism industry will welcome nearly 3.9 million visitors, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023; including nearly 1.45 million international visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2023. The proportion of international tourists accounts for nearly 36% of the total number of tourists to Hue.
