On January 6, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong went to the field to inspect the progress of site clearance and construction of the Huong River overpass project.
At the inspection, provincial leaders listened to detailed reports from construction units and investors on the project implementation status, difficulties, obstacles as well as progress of important items.
According to the report, the project is now basically on schedule. However, there are still some obstacles related to site clearance and weather conditions affecting the progress.
“Up to this point, we have completed about 90% of the work. The remaining work, although not much, is of an aesthetic nature and depends on the weather. Therefore, we have to take advantage of favorable weather to organize the construction,” said Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quyen - Deputy Director of the City Traffic Project Management Board.

During the inspection, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized the importance of the project to the city's socio-economic development. He requested relevant units to strengthen coordination, speed up progress, ensure project quality as well as comply with requirements on labor safety and environmental protection.
The Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee also requested construction units and investors to focus on resolving problems in site clearance, especially paying attention to supporting resettled people, ensuring legitimate rights for affected people. At the same time, units need to review the entire construction plan, arrange human resources and machinery reasonably to ensure the committed progress. For items that are still behind schedule, there must be a specific roadmap and additional shifts to complete on time.
The Perfume River Overpass is an important project that not only helps reduce traffic pressure but also creates a highlight for Hue's urban landscape. Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong requested that the project be completed on time on March 26, 2025 to put into operation soon and serve the people.
The Nguyen Hoang Street and Huong River Overpass Project is part of the Ring Road 3 - the main traffic axis through the city, connecting two satellite towns, Huong Tra and Huong Thuy, with Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa districts. The project has a total investment of VND 2,281 billion, mobilized from the central and local budgets.
According to the design, the bridge is a steel arch, 380m long, including 5 spans, 43m wide, with 6 lanes and 210m long approach roads at both ends. In particular, the bridge also has a 3m wide pedestrian lane. The bridge structure is made of reinforced concrete, with a minimum navigation capacity of 30m wide and 6m high.
