The Philippine National Hydrometeorological Agency (PAGASA) has just released a forecast for the possibility of 2-3 tropical storms.
Mr. Obet Badrina, PAGASA weather expert, commented, "We expect 2 or 3 storms to form or enter the area affected by the Philippines this August."

Previously, in July, two tropical storms "Butchoy" and "Gaemi" (local name "Carina") made landfall in this country. According to a report by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the combined impact of the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina left at least 39 people dead.
However, Mr. Badrina said this weekend there were no signs of a new storm forming. PAGASA also announced that the southwest monsoon is weakening, only affecting some areas of Luzon.
Even so, rain is still forecast in many places. "According to the latest satellite images, we see that the southwest monsoon is starting to weaken, but there is still the possibility of rain, especially in western Luzon," Mr. Badrina added.
Currently, PAGASA has not issued any high wind warnings for the Philippine coast.
Visitors to the Philippines during this period should regularly monitor weather reports and warnings from PAGASA. It's important to carefully check your travel itinerary and consider making adjustments if necessary, especially for trips to coastal areas or islands.

Prepare necessary items in case of emergency such as flashlights, spare batteries, drinking water and dry food. Travelers should keep local emergency and embassy/consulate numbers handy, and follow any instructions and warnings from local authorities.
Finally, visitors can consider purchasing travel insurance that covers accidents and incidents caused by weather to ensure a safe and complete travel experience.
