On May 1st, Long Hai Commune People's Committee said that in response to information reflected by tourists on social networks about being underweighted when buying seafood in the area, local authorities immediately intervened, quickly strictly handled violators and rectified trading activities in the area.
Previously, a tourist posted on social networks the content that on April 27th, he bought 3.2kg of seafood at Long Hai commune beach, but when weighed, it was only about 1.8kg. This person said that he had suspected a short weighing from the beginning, but because he was alone, he was afraid of conflicts when not taking the goods, so he had to pay and go home.
Local authorities quickly intervened to verify, thereby identifying the seafood seller as Ms. N.T. T. V (47 years old) and inviting her to the headquarters to work. Ms. V admitted to using a scale that did not meet regulations (the scale was salinized, sealed, and the lead seal was broken) to weigh seafood, leading to not ensuring weight when selling goods to tourists. This person also voluntarily destroyed the scale and committed not to use a scale that did not meet quality standards for trading and business.

On that basis, functional agencies made a record of violation and issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions on Ms. N.T. T. V.
In addition, Long Hai commune also established an inter-sectoral inspection team to inspect scales of seafood business households in the beach area to promptly detect and handle fraudulent acts. Through this, 2 scales that were interfered with and distorted the results were detected, recorded and confiscated. At the same time, it recommended that business households strictly comply with regulations in trading activities, ensure the rights of tourists, and contribute to building a transparent and civilized tourism environment.
