    Many tourists come to the Vietnam Military History Museum, checking in with the historic tank that once rammed into the auxiliary gate of Independence Palace on April 30, 1975.

    Dịp nghỉ lễ 30.4 năm nay, Bảo tàng Lịch sử Quân sự Việt Nam mở cửa phục vụ khách tham quan trong 4 ngày (từ 30.4 đến 3.5.2026), đồng thời miễn phí vé vào cửa trong hai ngày 30.4 và 1.5. Đây là hoạt động ý nghĩa nhân dịp kỷ niệm 51 năm Ngày Giải phóng miền Nam, thống nhất đất nước và 140 năm Ngày Quốc tế Lao động, góp phần thu hút đông đảo người dân, du khách trong và ngoài nước đến tìm hiểu lịch sử.

Sự kiện này đánh dấu thắng lợi hoàn toàn của chiến dịch, kết thúc cuộc kháng chiến chống Mỹ, thống nhất đất nước.
    According to documents, in the campaign, tank 843 (commanded by Company Commander Bui Quang Than) led the formation to attack, crashing into the auxiliary gate of Independence Palace at noon on April 30, 1975 but was trapped. Immediately after that, tank 390 advanced and knocked down the main gate. Both of them belonged to Tank Brigade 203.

    In addition to tank 843, the museum also displays many other precious artifacts related to the campaign such as the Jeep carrying President Duong Van Minh to declare surrender, combat maps, urgent telegrams and important historical documents...
