On April 30, Phu Yen General Hospital said it had received 5 cases of tourists bitten by monkeys on the coastal road Phuoc Tan - Bai Nga, Hoa Xuan commune, Dak Lak province.
Accordingly, continuously in two days, April 28 and 29, Phu Yen General Hospital received 5 tourists bitten by monkeys while sightseeing and moving in this area. The patients were admitted to the hospital in a state of alertness and good contact.

The hospital has conducted examination, classification, assessment of the extent of injury, treatment of wounds and rabies risk counseling, and at the same time implemented post-exposure prophylaxis measures for each case.
Among them, 3 cases had multiple injuries, widespread damage in many different locations, posing a risk of infection and rabies exposure.
Doctors proceeded to clean the wound, stitch, bandage and prescribe appropriate treatment, and at the same time inject anti-rabbit serum according to professional regulations.
The remaining two cases have milder levels of injury, with no wide-area wounds recorded. However, the patients were still assessed for risk, injected with rabies serum and guided to monitor and fully vaccinate according to the schedule.
As of the time of reporting, Phu Yen General Hospital has not recorded any severe cases related to the above-mentioned monkey bites cases.
Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Chairman of Hoa Xuan Commune People's Committee, said that he will send forces to inspect and put up warning signs for tourists not to come into close contact with monkeys and not to feed wild monkeys.
