According to a report on August 27 by the Office of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, tourism activities in the first 8 months of 2026 in the province continued to improve positively. Tourism infrastructure and agricultural, community, and craft village tourism products were expanded, contributing to promoting the service sector and promoting the local image. Thanks to that, tourist attractions and areas welcomed 5.5 million visitors, reaching 68.7% of the annual plan and an increase of 11.4% compared to the same period.
In which, international visitors reached about 432,000, an increase of 5%. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 2,900 billion VND, reaching 60.4% of the annual plan, an increase of 4% compared to the same period. Notably, tourism products associated with local strengths such as agricultural tourism, community tourism and craft villages continue to be expanded, diversifying experiences for tourists.
In the last months of the year, the province will continue to implement cultural, artistic and event activities associated with stimulating tourism demand. The Provincial People's Committee requests to strengthen propaganda on key political, cultural and tourism events in September and the last months of the year; and at the same time implement an art program to serve the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Sports Festival in 2026 and the 2nd Cai Luong Excerpt Program in 2026.
