Tourism accelerates during peak season
In the first 7 months of 2026, Gia Lai province welcomed more than 10.5 million tourist arrivals, reaching 70.3% of the annual plan (15 million arrivals), an increase of 22.5% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, international visitors reached 147,600 arrivals, an increase of 77%. Total revenue from tourism reached 22,910 billion VND, equal to 65.5% of the annual plan (35,000 billion VND), an increase of 22%.
In July alone, the whole province welcomed 1.8 million visitors, including 18,300 international visitors; total revenue from tourism reached 3,900 billion VND.
Many destinations recorded high visitor numbers. Ky Co welcomed about 82,700 visitors, an average of 2,700 visitors/day, peak season nearly 5,000 visitors/day; Eo Gio welcomed about 64,000 visitors, an average of 2,200 visitors/day, peak season nearly 3,000 visitors/day.
In Quy Nhon Dong and Nhon Hai wards, it welcomes over 2,000 visitors/day, Nhon Ly Green Stone Road over 3,000 visitors/day, Hon Kho about 500 visitors/day during peak hours.
Thien Hung Zen Monastery welcomed about 65,000 visitors, an average of over 2,000 visitors/day. Cham towers, Gia Lai Provincial Museum welcomed about 26,680 visitors; Quang Trung Museum and historical sites welcomed more than 20,000 visitors...
Along with the increase in the number of visitors, waterway, air and railway transport activities are maintained stably, meeting the travel needs of people and tourists.
In July, the Mui Tan - Nhon Chau waterway route carried out 625 flights, transporting 9,910 passengers to and from the island. Phu Cat and Pleiku airports operated about 930 flights, transporting about 186,000 passengers. At Dieu Tri and Quy Nhon stations, about 600 trains welcomed and saw off more than 37,000 passengers.
It is expected that in August and September, the whole province will welcome nearly 3 million visitors, aiming for about 4.6 million visitors in the third quarter of 2026, exceeding the set scenario.
Gia Lai Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that a series of large-scale events during the summer tourism peak such as the 9th Vietnam International Traditional Martial Arts Festival, the 2nd Vietnam Travel Day, Kun Marathon Quy Nhon 2026, the 3x3 U16, U18 National Youth Basketball Championship 2026... along with promotional and demand stimulus activities will continue to create attraction, contributing to helping the tourism industry exceed the set targets.
More experiences for tourists
To serve the increased number of customers during the summer, especially the September 2nd holiday, restaurants, hotels, resorts, tourist areas, attractions and accommodation establishments are upgrading services, adding new products and experiences.
Along the coast of Quy Nhon, East West Brewing - Quy Nhon offers more culinary and relaxation experiences with sea-facing spaces, craft beer, Asian-European menus and some local dishes. Guests can dine, enjoy drinks and watch the sunset in the coastal space.
