According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in March 2026, the Capital welcomed about 3.05 million visitors, an increase of 15.7% compared to the same period last year. Of which, international visitors reached 851,000 (up 17.7%), domestic visitors reached 2.2 million (up 14.9%). Total tourism revenue in March is estimated at 12.9 trillion VND, up 16.4%.
In general, in the first 3 months of the year, Hanoi is estimated to welcome 8.82 million visitors, an increase of 20.5% compared to the same period in 2025. International visitors reached 2.4 million, a strong increase of 28.7%, while domestic visitors reached 6.42 million, an increase of 17.7%. Total revenue from tourism reached about 36.99 trillion VND, an increase of 23.1%.

Accommodation infrastructure continues to expand with 3.761 establishments and 71,286 rooms. Of which, 66 hotels and apartment complexes are ranked from 1 to 5 stars with nearly 10,000 rooms. Average room occupancy rate in March reached 62.9%, up 0.6 percentage points; Q1 reached 62.6%, up 1 percentage point compared to the same period.
Regarding standard tourism services, Hanoi currently has 61 establishments, including 27 dining establishments, 23 shopping establishments, 9 entertainment establishments and 2 health care facilities, contributing to improving the quality of service to tourists.
In the field of travel, the whole city has 1,964 international travel businesses, 535 domestic travel businesses, 32 tourist transport businesses and 7 foreign representative offices. The tour guide team includes 7,073 international tour guides, 2,599 domestic tour guides and 158 spot tour guides.
In parallel with the growth in the number of visitors, Hanoi also promotes promotion and advertising activities. Many major events attract a large number of tourists such as the "Happy Tet 2026" program with more than 30,000 visitors after 5 days, the Spring Fair attracting over 20,000 visitors, or the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2026 welcoming nearly 80,000 visitors...
In the coming time, Hanoi aims to continue developing tourism in a sustainable, modern direction and associated with digital transformation, focusing on improving product quality and tourist experiences.
The city will promote the development of new tourism products such as rural tourism, craft villages, heritage experiences; and at the same time survey and complete dossiers to recognize more key tourist areas such as Ba Vi, Huong Son, Hoan Kiem Lake area and the ancient town.
In addition, Hanoi aims to organize large-scale tourism festivals and events, and develop branded cultural and entertainment products to attract domestic and international tourists.
The Capital's tourism industry strengthens the application of technology, digitizes tourism data and develops smart platforms, contributing to improving management quality and supporting tourists to access information more conveniently.
