Lang Son tourism booms, welcoming more than 2.1 million visitors in the first three months of the year

Lang Son - In the first three months of 2026, tourism recorded signs of recovery when welcoming more than 2.1 million visitors, with total estimated revenue reaching 1,910 billion VND.

On April 14, informing PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province said that in the first quarter of 2026, Lang Son tourism recorded positive growth momentum when welcoming 2.1 million visitors, an increase of 10.5% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 45.1% of the annual plan.

Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 1,910 billion VND, an increase of 21% compared to the same period.

Out of a total of more than 2.1 million visitors, international visitors reached 77,000, an increase of 37.5% compared to the same period last year; domestic visitors reached more than 2 million, an increase of 9.7%.

This result continues the growth momentum of 2025. Previously, for the whole year of 2025, the total number of tourists to Lang Son was estimated at more than 4.4 million, an increase of 5.3% compared to 2024.

In which, international visitors reached about 305,000, total tourism revenue is estimated at over 4,500 billion VND.

One of the major highlights of Lang Son tourism at the beginning of this year is the Ky Cung - Ta Phu temple festival.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, from January 22 to 27 of the Binh Ngo year, the province welcomed about 1.5 million visitors to the festival, an increase of nearly 700,000 visitors compared to the same period last year.

Total revenue from service activities during this festival is estimated at 1,450 billion VND. In the two peak days of January 26 and 27, the festival welcomed about 1.3 million visitors, service revenue is estimated at about 1,2 billion VND.

Ky Cung - Ta Phu Temple is the largest traditional festival in Lang Son province, held annually from the 22nd to the 27th day of the first lunar month to show gratitude to Quan Lon Tuan Tranh and Ta Do Doc Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai.

The highlight of the festival is the palanquin procession ritual between Ky Cung Temple and Ta Phu Temple, along with many folk cultural activities such as lion and dragon dances, and firecracker head paintings.

This year, the main festival day of the 27th day of the first lunar month falls on Sunday, causing the number of visitors to Lang Son to increase sharply. From the 26th day of the first lunar month, many central roads and areas around the two temples are crowded with pilgrims, creating a bustling atmosphere in the early spring days.

The increased number of visitors not only promotes commercial, service, accommodation, and dining activities in the area but also shows the increasingly clear attraction of cultural and spiritual tourism in Lang Son.
