Ky Cung - Ta Phu Festival takes place from the 22nd to the 27th day of the first lunar month (lunar calendar) every year, is a typical traditional festival of Lang region, associated with the belief in worshiping Quan Lon Tuan Tranh at Ky Cung temple and Than Cong Tai - Ta Do Doc Han Quan Cong worshiped at Ta Phu temple.
According to Lao Dong's records, although it is currently only the beginning of the twelfth lunar month, many accommodation establishments in the city have fallen into a state of "room shortage".
Hotels with prime locations near Ky Cung Temple, Ta Phu Temple and Dong Kinh market area have been almost fully booked for a month now.

Room rates have also increased sharply accordingly. Some 3-star hotels that previously only fluctuated around 500,000-700,000 VND/night have now been listed at 1,000,000-1,500,000 VND/night.
Affordable motels are no exception, room rates increased from 250,000-300,000 VND/night to 500,000-600,000 VND/night.
On online booking applications, during the period from March 13-15 (ie January 25-27, the main festival days), there are almost no empty rooms left in the mid-range hotel segment.

The remaining choices are mainly high-class hotels such as Four Points by Sheraton Lang Son or Muong Thanh Luxury Lang Son, with prices from about 3-5 million VND/room/night.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Quang Ha - Director of Anh Tu Hotel (Ly Thuong Kiet street, Dong Kinh ward) said that the hotel has a total of 50 rooms, can serve about 140 guests, but by this time it is fully booked.
Customers have been booking for a long time, especially on the 22nd and 27th of the first lunar month, the opening and closing days of the festival. In previous years, we still kept a few spare rooms for regular customers, but this year they are no longer there," Mr. Ha said.

According to him, only in cases where customers report cancellations close to the date, do establishments have empty rooms, and currently it is almost impossible to arrange more.
Not only are hotel rooms "out of stock", but also beautiful locations in the central urban area of Lang Son, where families and business households set up tents and arrange trays to welcome guests during the festival, are also fully booked.
Ms. Trieu Hai Yen (Lang Son) shared that at the same time last year, her family still rented a central location to set up a theater to invite partners, relatives, and friends.
This year, up to this point, all beautiful locations have been rented out, only places further from the center or in the alley are left. My family is looking for more suitable locations or waiting to hand them over," Ms. Yen said.

According to Ms. Yen, in the 2025 festival season, her family once invested in a set of "long phung sum vay" models made of soft foam, about 4m long and 3m high for display. This magnificent model has attracted a large number of tourists to take photos and check-in.
On festival days, large tents are erected close to each other on both sides of the road, many families are willing to spend tens of millions of dong to arrange table feasts on the main streets, creating a rare bustling and lively scene.
According to statistics, the Ky Cung - Ta Phu festival in 2025 attracted 820,600 visitors, an increase of nearly 300,000 visitors compared to the same period in 2024. Total revenue from service activities reached about 985 billion VND.
Ms. Truong Vi Ha - Deputy Head of Tourism and Sports Management Department said that this year the accommodation capacity in the province has been increased by more than 200 rooms compared to 2025, when the whole province had 302 accommodation facilities with 4,170 rooms.
Currently, the tourism accommodation system can basically meet the needs of tourists when coming to Lang Son.
The fact that hotels are "out of rooms" very early shows the special heat of the Ky Cung - Ta Phu festival. This is both a positive signal for Lang Son tourism and sets requirements for price management and improving service quality to maintain a beautiful image in the eyes of tourists every festival season.
