On the evening of January 4th, the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival closed after 9 days of exciting activities (December 27, 2025 - January 4, 2026). With the theme "The colors of flowers in the new day", at the Festival, more than 30 cultural, artistic, and tourism activities were elaborately staged, rich in local identity, leaving many joys and new expectations in the hearts of tourists, people and local leaders.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - proudly shared: "In recent days, Sa Dec has not only been brilliant with flower colors, but also warm with affection, with the joint efforts and the sense of responsibility of the whole community.

According to Mr. Tuan, this Festival with many new activities, organized for the first time, has attracted domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience at the highest level ever; at the same time, it continues to affirm Sa Dec's position as a typical flower and ornamental plant center of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.

Prominent is the establishment of the Vietnam Record for the project "Map of Vietnam shaped from the most flower and ornamental plant varieties" with 1,000 flower and ornamental plant varieties, showing the richness and diversity of the flower varieties that Sa Dec is cultivating, arousing pride in the flower growing profession - of Vietnamese farmers in general, and Sa Dec in particular.
In addition, the colorful hot air balloon activity has brought a unique and new experiential space, appearing here for the first time, opening up a new perspective on the potential for experiential tourism and creative tourism development of the locality.

This year's festival has left a deep humanistic mark with a flower village experience program for more than 1,000 students overcoming difficulties in the Mekong Delta region. This is not only a sightseeing activity, but also a sharing, a way to sow seeds of dreams, nurture love for the homeland and faith in the future for the younger generation.

More specifically, the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival also created a very meaningful milestone when Dong Thap's flower and ornamental plant growing profession was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage. In other words, this Festival is not only an opportunity to accelerate trade connections for economic development, but also an opportunity to spread the image of a meaningful, dynamic and rich in identity Dong Thap.
However, Mr. Tuan also noted that the titles and records achieved are both an honor, but also place greater responsibility on the government and the community in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values. Therefore, Mr. Tuan requested that immediately after the Festival closes, departments and localities urgently embark on a new journey.

That is to continue to advise and propose to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee new ideas and practical models for conservation and further promotion of the value of flower and ornamental plant growing associated with improving sustainable livelihoods for people; as well as completing tourism and service infrastructure; strengthening connections with businesses and scientists to promote innovation.
At the same time, maintain and replicate humane and community-oriented activities, especially aimed at the younger generation, so that every time they meet, the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival always radiates freshness and the strong rise of the hundred-year-old flower village.
