The Hanoi Department of Tourism informed that the capital's tourism industry is estimated to welcome and serve over 33.7 million visitors in 2025, an increase of 20.87% compared to 2024. This is the highest mark in history, surpassing the 29 million visitors in 2019 - the golden age before COVID-19.
Of which, there were over 7.82 million international tourists, an increase of 22.76% over last year and over 25.88 million domestic tourists, an increase of 20.32%.
Total revenue from tourists is estimated at over VND 134.46 trillion, an increase of 21.5% compared to 2024.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism assessed that the international market structure continues to improve, the number of visitors from many traditional markets and potential markets continues to increase and return to Hanoi with higher frequency.

The tourist accommodation system in Hanoi continues to expand and improve quality, with 3,761 accommodation facilities with 71,256 rooms. Of which, there are 65 hotels and apartment buildings with a rating of 1-5 stars with a total of 9,963 rooms, including 28 5-star hotels and apartment buildings; 16 hotels and 1 4-star apartment complex; 8 3-star hotels; 10 2-star hotels and 3 1-star hotels. The number of tourist accommodation establishments that have not registered for ranking is 3,676 with 61,293 rooms.
By December 5, 2025, Hanoi will have nearly 2,000 international travel businesses, more than 500 domestic travel businesses and nearly 10,000 tour guides in operation.
In recent times, the capital's tourism industry has focused on developing diverse products, prioritizing strengths such as cultural tourism, urban tourism, rural agriculture, community and river, with many new, professional products, rich in identity, attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
In 2025, Hanoi will continue to be honored by prestigious tourism organizations, affirming its position as a leading destination in the region and internationally. The capital was awarded titles at the World Travel Awards, entered the Top 25 top destinations and cultural destinations in the world voted by TripAdvisor, and topped many rankings of the most worth- exploring cultural, artistic and destination cities in Asia, creating a strong media effect globally.
In 2026, the capital's tourism industry strives to attract over 35.8 million visitors in 2026, an increase of 6.2% compared to the estimate in 2025; including over 8.6 million international tourists (including 6.1 million overnight visitors), an increase of 10% compared to the estimate in 2025 and 27.2 million domestic visitors, an increase of 5.1%. This is a high goal, requiring the efforts and determination of the capital's tourism industry in the general development picture of the tourism industry nationwide.
In 2026, the entire Vietnamese tourism industry aims to welcome 25 million international tourists, serve 150 million domestic tourists and have a total revenue from tourists of about 1,125 trillion VND.
