MoneySuperMarket (a UK financial price and service comparison platform) has just announced a list of 10 cities with the most friendly customer service in the world, in which Hanoi is the only representative of Southeast Asia to be present and ranked second.
The ranking was built from analyzing more than 100,000 customer reviews on Google Maps for restaurants, bars, attractions and entertainment venues in 107 cities worldwide. The research team used rates of reviews referring to employee friendliness and service quality to determine the ranking.
At the top of the list is Edinburgh (Scotland, UK) with a positive customer service rating of 59%. Hanoi ranks second with 58.6%, followed by Liverpool (UK) with 58.3%. The remaining positions in the top 10 include Paris (France), Dublin (Ireland), Montreal (Canada), Vienna (Austria), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Birmingham (UK) and Bristol (UK).
According to MoneySuperMarket, Hanoi's friendliness largely stems from the culture that values the spirit of community and the tradition of hospitality of Vietnamese people. These are factors that help tourists have a positive experience when using tourism services in the capital.
This honor continues to extend the series of recognitions from the media and international organizations for Hanoi in recent years.
In 2025, Time Out magazine ranked Hanoi at 11th place in the list of 15 cities most loved by tourists in the world, thanks to the combination of heritage, street food, vibrant life and a friendly atmosphere. In the same year, The Telegraph (UK) also included Hanoi in the list of the most desirable cities to visit in the world at the Telegraph Travel Awards.
In 2026, Hanoi was also included in the Condé Nast Traveler list of 50 most beautiful cities in the world. This magazine highly appreciates the intersection of ancient and modern architecture, lake system, green space and unique cultural life of the capital.
