On the afternoon of July 13, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Phu Quoc Sun Air Co., Ltd. organized a conference to introduce the new route of Sun Phu Quoc Airways in Hai Phong City.
Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of Hai Phong City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: The event of Sun Phu Quoc Airways officially operating two routes Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong - Phu Quoc is of great significance to the city. In which, the Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City route plays a role in connecting the two economic locomotives North - South, the Hai Phong - Phu Quoc route opens up a direct connection axis between the two leading sea tourism centers, contributing to promoting two-way passenger flows, creating more motivation for inter-regional tourism development.
Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism assessed that the opening of a new air route is a practical contribution, accompanying the city in the strategy of developing transport infrastructure, connecting regions and promoting tourism.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that, through this new air route, travel businesses and tourism service business units in the city will proactively research and develop attractive tourism products and tours, effectively exploiting two-way tourist sources between Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc, in order to diversify the tourist market.
Mr. La Vinh Nam, representative of Sun Phuoc Airways, informed: Two routes of Sun Phuoc Airways are expected to be put into operation from July 25, 2026 with a frequency of 1 flight/day. These are the first two routes of Sun Phuoc Airways in Hai Phong, making Cat Bi International Airport the 7th domestic airport in the airline's network, after Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Van Don.
Flight schedule from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 07:05, lands in Hai Phong at 09:10; the return flight departs from Hai Phong at 15:50, arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 18:00. Flight schedule from Hai Phong - Phu Quoc departs from Hai Phong at 10:00, lands in Phu Quoc at 12:05; return flight leaves Phu Quoc at 12:55, arrives in Hai Phong at 15:00.
To celebrate the new route, the airline offers a 30% discount on basic fares for the Hai Phong - Phu Quoc route when booking from 2 people or more on the website or Sun Phu Quoc Airways application. The airline also offers a 25% discount on basic fares for the Hai Phong - Phu Quoc route when buying from Sun Phu Quoc Airways' official traditional agents. The promotion applies for the period 25.7-24.10, except for peak and special peak periods.
Since the opening of sales, Hai Phong routes have recorded more than 5,000 ticket bookings, the flight occupancy rate has continuously increased day by day, showing the positive attraction of the Hai Phong market to key economic and tourist centers in the country.
