Quy Nhon - Gia Lai Art Kite Festival 2026 takes place from June 19-21, attracting 12 kite teams with about 300 kites participating, creating a vibrant cultural and tourist space on the coast of Quy Nhon.
The competition contents include kite lantern performances, boneless kites, floating kites and team kites. In which, the kite lantern competition will take place on the evening of June 19; in the afternoon of June 20 are boneless kites, floating kites, and in the evening of the same day, kite lantern competitions will continue; on June 21, the team kite competition will take place.
Along with kite art performances, the culinary program with the theme "Flying with the kite - Flavoring with the taste" brings a diverse experience space with about 61 booths.
People and tourists have the opportunity to enjoy the culinary quintessence of the three regions North - Central - South, visit booths introducing OCOP products of Quy Nhon ward and localities.
Taking place right at the weekend, the festival attracted thousands of people and tourists flocking to Quy Nhon beach. Along Xuan Dieu street, streams of people continuously turned towards the central beach area to admire the performance of hundreds of kites of all colors, sizes and shapes.
On the blue and windy sky, traditional kites interspersed with modern kite designs create a brilliant scene, becoming a highlight attracting a large number of people and tourists.
Nguyen Minh Anh (25 years old, residing in Dak Lak province) said that this summer vacation, a group of friends came to Quy Nhon for sightseeing and tourism and were lucky to be at the right time for the kite festival.
Hundreds of kites of all colors, sizes, and shapes flying in the sky, creating a very beautiful and lively scene," shared Minh Anh.
The Quy Nhon - Gia Lai Art Kite Festival 2026 is organized to honor the traditional cultural values of kite art, contributing to enriching local cultural, sports and tourism activities.
The event also responded to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026, contributing to promoting the image of Quy Nhon as an attractive destination for tourism, culture and cuisine.
Through the festival, the locality expects to gradually build art kites into annual tourism products, create a playground for exchange for artisans and kite clubs inside and outside the province, attract tourists, and stimulate summer tourism.
