On the morning of July 9, in Da Nang, the Da Nang Tourism Association and the Quang Nam Tourism Association officially held an Executive Committee Conference, deciding to merge into a common organization. This event is a historic milestone, opening a new era with the goal of developing sustainable tourism, enhancing the position of Da Nang and Quang Nam destinations on the international tourism map.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Cao Tri Dung, interim Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association after the merger, emphasized: "The merger will help optimize resources, diversify products and enhance competitiveness. A joint organization will have a stronger voice in recommending policies, investing and promoting, creating attractive linkage product packages for tourists.
After the merger, the Association will be named the Da Nang City Tourism Association. Mr. Cao Tri Dung was nominated to hold the position of Interim Chairman.
In terms of structure, the Association will temporarily maintain the organizational status of both old units, with the main office located at Ariyana International Convention Palace in Da Nang and a second office in Hoi An.
In the coming time, the Association will focus on key tasks such as improving the quality of human resources through specialized training programs on governance and digital transformation. At the same time, periodic activities such as forums, fairs, famtrip, and tourism awards will be maintained and expanded to promote exchanges and cooperation between businesses. The merger is not only an opportunity to resonate with the organization but also an opportunity to build a complete tourism ecosystem, creating unique and different experiences.
Ms. Linh Chi, Head of Homestay Villa Association in Hoi An, believes that this merger is a golden opportunity to develop sustainable inter-regional tourism, which can expand connections to Hue, creating a unique cultural heritage journey of the Central region, strongly attracting international tourists.
