Quang Ninh - Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 3 Wipha, many cruise ship owners have canceled tours and stay in the bay.

According to the urgent dispatch from the Quang Ninh Provincial Waterways and Inland Waterway Vehicle Inspection Port Authority, all tourist boats operating in Ha Long Bay and boats transporting passengers to islands and between islands are licensed to leave the port to ensure absolute safety for passengers, crew members and vehicles.

The licensing suspension period is from 2:00 p.m. on July 20, 2025 until the final bulletin on storm No. 3.

On-land vehicles returning to customers continue to be licensed.

A representative of the Lan Ha Tourism and cruise ship Association said that tourist ships have moved to safe shelters. Many cruise ship owners have paid deposits to guests, canceled tours, and slept overnight from today, July 20.

A travel agency based in Hanoi said that a group of tourists going to Cat Ba canceled their tours and dozens of individual tourists canceled their tours to Ha Long and Lan Ha due to concerns about the impact of the storm. The company is currently negotiating with customers to find a solution, refund the deposit or change the schedule.

The Waterways and Inland Waterway Vehicle Inspection Service requires relevant units to continue to closely monitor weather developments through official hydrometeorological forecasts.

Timely notify ship owners, wharves, captains and related parties to take proactive preventive measures, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles; do not be subjective or negligent in the face of the impacts of storm No. 3 Wipha.
