Facing the need to worship the Buddhist relics of a large number of Buddhists and the people of the whole country, recently, the Vietnam Buddhist Church sent a written request to the Prime Minister to give opinions to the Indian government that allowed to extend the time of religious relics of Buddha in Vietnam.
On May 19, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam announced that the Indian Prime Minister had approved an extension of the time to celebrate the Buddha's Compass in Vietnam until June 2, 2025.
Accordingly, the Central Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha proposed to add a number of places to worship and worship the Buddha, specifically at:
- Bai Dinh Pagoda, Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh Province, from May 21 to 22
- Phuc Son Pagoda, Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province, from May 22 to 24
- Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace, Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province, from May 25 to 28
- Hung Yen City bell tower, Hung Yen province, from May 28 to 29
- Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City from May 30 to June 2

According to the official dispatch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the above schedule has been highly agreed upon by the Venerable and Permanent Vice President and the Standing Committee of the Triental Council.
The Trial Council also surveyed locations that were eligible for consideration and discussed with local authorities, the Trial Committees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen provinces, Da Nang city on receiving guarantees for security, order, health, fire prevention and fighting safety, environmental sanitation... for the success of the event.
Earlier, the Buddha's relics were invited from the Indian National Museum to Vietnam from 2.5 to May 21, the Vesak Ceremony of the United Nations 2025. This is the first time the Buddha has been invited to Vietnam, thanks to the close coordination between the Government of Vietnam, the Vietnam Buddhist Church, the Indian government and international Buddhist organizations.
According to the original plan, the Buddha's Rehabilitation Temple was honored in 4 large pagodas including Thanh Tam Pagoda (HCMC), Ba Den Pagoda (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam) before returning to India on May 21.
