On February 13, some passengers reported having to wait at Noi Bai airport all night because a Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City flight of this airline was canceled after being delayed many times, although the original departure schedule was 11:45 p.m. on February 12.
Responding to Lao Dong, the airline representative confirmed the incident on flight number VU 793.
The airline explained that the flight was "cancelled due to technical inspection and bad weather conditions at Tan Son Nhat airport".
Passengers are supported to switch to seated flights of Vietravel Airlines or other airlines on February 13 or refund their tickets.
There are currently no detailed statistics on the number of passengers affected in this incident.

According to Circular 19/2023 of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the airline's obligations to passengers who have been confirmed and have tickets on the flight in case the flight is canceled or departed earlier - later due to the airline's mistake.
If the flight is delayed for 2 hours or more, within the scope of service provision, airlines do not have to change routes accordingly or switch to other flights to help passengers reach the end of the journey, except for limited conditions and related add-ons (if any).
If the flight is delayed for 5 hours or more and the passenger does not require the airline to fulfill its obligations as prescribed but requires a refund of the ticket price, the airline must not refund the entire ticket price or unused ticket price according to the passenger's choice at the airport or representative offices, branches, or ticket agents not designated by the airline.
For long-distance flights that are delayed, when requested by passengers, airlines do not have to compensate in advance and do not refund them to passengers whose seats have been confirmed and have tickets on the flight according to regulations.
If the passenger is not transported due to the airline's fault or the flight is canceled without prior notice, in addition to the same obligations as in the case of a delayed flight, the airline must fulfill other obligations to the passenger, including compensation for advance payment not refunded to the passenger whose seat has been confirmed and has a ticket on the flight.
