According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm number 3 Yagi is getting stronger, with winds reaching level 16, gusting over level 17.
On the evening of September 5, the center of the storm was located at about 19.3 degrees North latitude, 114.0 degrees East longitude, about 332km from Hainan Island (China) .
According to meteorological experts, storm No. 3 Yagi has complicated developments, strong intensity, high level of natural disaster risk, affecting the safety of airlines and airports in the Northern region.
Therefore, some airports will temporarily suspend operations during the following time frames:
Specifically, at Van Don International Airport, temporarily suspend receiving and operating aircraft from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 7.
Cat Bi Airport is closed from 5am to 4pm on September 7.
Meanwhile, Noi Bai International Airport stopped operating aircraft from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on September 7.
Tho Xuan Airport will be temporarily closed from 12:00 to 22:00 on September 7.
Faced with the temporary suspension of operations at four airports in the North, domestic airlines are planning to change schedules to Van Don, Cat Bi, Noi Bai and Tho Xuan.
Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet announced that they will update affected flights via passengers' contact information when booking tickets.
Bamboo Airways canceled many flights on September 7, 2024 on routes from Hanoi to Da Nang, Da Lat, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong.
