Spending days experiencing sightseeing and relaxing in Phu Quoc (An Giang) from Christmas to welcoming the New Year, many international tourists share their interesting feelings about the beautiful island.
Mr. Mikhail, a Russian tourist, said: "This is the first time I have come to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, the nature here is great to enjoy. I am impressed because everyone here often smiles happily, shares, and helps, so it creates a feeling for tourists to feel really comfortable.
Mr. Mikhail and his wife have 10 days off on the island. “I see a lot of activities for children, with convenient playgrounds. I plan to return next time with my children and parents,” he said.
And Ms. Anna Ivanova, a Russian tourist - said: "Really overwhelmed and happy! I have never welcomed a new year as beautiful and brilliant as in Phu Quoc this time. Fireworks, sea, music, everything is perfect. I feel wonderful energy and believe that this new year will be filled with joy.
Mr. Rahul Sharma, an Indian tourist excitedly shared: "Every year I travel during the New Year holiday, but perhaps this is the time I see the most wonderful atmosphere. Everyone dances, laughs, cheers together, the atmosphere is too wonderful to welcome the New Year, gather friends. We also watch many attractive shows, have time to relax, rest, and swim.
To serve tourists during the 2026 New Year holiday, the An Giang Department of Tourism has directed key tourist areas, the Tourism Association, the Provincial Chefs Association; tourist areas/sites; tourism business units in the area to prepare the best conditions.
In Phu Quoc Special Zone alone, many large-scale activities and events are organized to serve tourists such as the special edition ONCE Show welcoming the new year at VinWonders, the 2025 Countdown "The Rise of Lights" at Grand World Phu Quoc, the entertainment program "Paradise" combined with brilliant fireworks performances, Beach Music Week and Fireworks at Hoang Hon Town (from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026) and Spectacle Countdown 2026 Night with the longest art fireworks display of the year, bringing a vibrant and attractive festival atmosphere to tourists.
According to statistics, on January 2, 2026, it is estimated that there were more than 136,000 visitors to An Giang province, an increase of 193.7% compared to the same period; of which international visitors were more than 7,500, an increase of 61.6% compared to the same period; visitors to tourist areas and attractions were estimated at more than 115,600, an increase of 202.3% compared to the same period; and overnight visitors were more than 20,600, an increase of 153.5% compared to the same period.
Total revenue from tourism reached over 204 billion VND, an increase of 93.2% compared to the same period. Phu Quoc Special Zone alone is estimated to welcome nearly 24,900 visitors, an increase of 78.8% compared to the same period, of which international visitors are more than 7,500, an increase of 64.1% compared to the same period.
