Phu Quoc welcomes more than 22,400 visitors on the first day of 2026

An Giang - On the first day of the new year 2026, Phu Quoc special zone is estimated to welcome more than 22,400 visitors, an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period; of which nearly 6,800 international visitors.

On the evening of January 1, 2026, An Giang Department of Tourism said that on the first day of 2026, the total number of visitors to tourist areas and attractions in the province was estimated at nearly 72,000 visitors, an increase of 6.1% compared to the same period.

Of which, international visitors were more than 6,800, an increase of 41.7% compared to the same period; visitors to areas and attractions reached more than 56,400, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period; overnight visitors were more than 15,300, an increase of 13.2% compared to the same period. Total revenue from tourism reached 172 billion VND, an increase of 26.8% compared to the same period.

Phu Quoc Special Zone alone is estimated to welcome more than 22,400 visitors, an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period; of which nearly 6,800 international visitors, an increase of 44% compared to the same period.

An Giang Department of Tourism assessed that the preparation for serving tourists during the 2026 New Year holiday is being concerned and prepared quite thoughtfully by communes, wards, special zones and tourism service business units. Tourism products and services continue to be consolidated and renewed.

In localities, tourist areas/sites, tourism business units deploy cultural and artistic activities, sports events, folk games, folk cake festivals; discount and promotional programs (Tuc Dup Hill tourist spot, O Lam commune; Tra Su melaleuca forest tourist spot, An Cu commune; Con En tourist spot, Cu Lao Gieng commune...).

In Phu Quoc Special Zone alone, many large-scale activities and events are organized to serve tourists such as the special edition ONCE Show welcoming the new year at VinWonders, the 2025 Countdown "The Rise of Lights" at Grand World Phu Quoc, the entertainment program "Paradise" combined with brilliant fireworks performances, Beach Music Week and Fireworks at Hoang Hon Town (from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026) and Spectacle Countdown 2026 Night with the longest art fireworks display of the year, bringing a vibrant and attractive festival atmosphere to tourists.

Also in the early morning of January 1, 2026, the first international visitors from Korea officially arrived at Phu Quoc International Airport. This is not only the peak season for international tourists, but domestic tourists also increased sharply during this occasion.
