Dương Đông |

The Hung Kings Commemoration and April 30 - January 1 holidays in recent years have created a "combo" of long holidays, promoting the travel demand of Vietnamese tourists on both domestic and international routes.

Two major holidays in April - including Hung Kings Commemoration Day (April 25-27) and the April 30 - May 1 holiday - are creating a rare "vacation combo", helping workers take advantage of the long holiday period.

This is considered a golden opportunity for tourism to explode, as the demand for resorts, exploration and movement of Vietnamese tourists increases significantly.

According to data from Booking.com, travel trends in 2026 show clear differentiation: 33% of Vietnamese tourists plan for many short-day domestic trips, while 22% choose longer international routes. This reflects the increasingly popular need to find flexible, personalized experiences and optimize holiday time.

Considering the Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday alone (25-27. 4), sea tourism continues to dominate the country, with Da Nang holding the No. 1 position for the second consecutive year.

In the international market, Bangkok, Tokyo and Seoul are the top three destinations, reflecting the trend of prioritizing short trips in the region.

Meanwhile, the April 30 - May 1 holiday lasting until May 3 continues to record the dominance of Da Nang in the domestic market and Bangkok in the international market. These are also two destinations that have maintained leading positions continuously in recent years, showing stability in attractiveness and tourism infrastructure.

The search list also recorded the appearance of familiar destinations such as Ninh Binh and Ha Long, showing a trend that tourists not only focus on big cities but also pay attention to natural and heritage destinations.
