On January 31, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee announced that it had a plan to implement cooperation activities with Hiroshima Prefecture (Japan) for the period 2026 - 2029.
The plan aims to concretize the signed cooperation agreement, contributing to deepening the relationship of "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" between Vietnam and Japan.
According to the plan, Khanh Hoa province continues to consolidate friendly relations, strengthen delegation exchanges between the two localities; focus on effectively organizing visits and working trips of leaders of the two sides.
At the same time, the province ensures security and safety for exchange activities and events. Thereby, contributing to enhancing the image and position of Khanh Hoa in international cooperation.
In the economic field, Khanh Hoa identifies the focus of attracting investment from Japan in general and Hiroshima Prefecture in particular into high-tech industries, processing and manufacturing industries, clean energy, logistics, high-tech healthcare and port logistics services.
The province will promote business connections, develop supporting industries; organize investment, trade and tourism promotion conferences in Hiroshima.
In parallel, Khanh Hoa also strengthens information provision, improves the investment environment, and supports investors throughout the project implementation process.
Tourism continues to be identified as an important cooperation field. Khanh Hoa will promote in-depth research into the Japanese tourist market, building products and services suitable for tastes and each age group.
For the tourism sector, the province also diversified promotion activities in Japanese; coordinated to organize Famtrip, Presstrip, Mediatrip delegations and researched to open a Cam Ranh - Hiroshima direct flight route to promote two-way tourist exchange.
In addition, Khanh Hoa focuses on supporting job connections for workers to work in Hiroshima; investing in and improving the quality of vocational training associated with market demand.
In the field of education and training, the province encourages educational institutions to strengthen Japanese language teaching, promote student and teacher exchanges; and at the same time mobilize Hiroshima partners to support scholarships for students in Khanh Hoa.
People in Khanh Hoa expressed their expectation that the cooperation plan for the period 2026 - 2029 will soon bring about specific changes in attracting investment, creating more jobs and improving the quality of human resources, especially in the fields of high technology, tourism and vocational training.
People in Nha Trang ward hope that cooperation projects will not only stop at signing, but will be implemented practically, helping local businesses have more opportunities to access the Japanese market, while increasing income and improving the lives of workers.
On the Japanese people's side, especially in Hiroshima Prefecture, public opinion expects the cooperative relationship with Khanh Hoa to open up more safe and stable investment opportunities in Vietnam, as well as promote cultural, tourism and educational exchanges between the two localities.
Through cooperation, the two sides strengthen mutual understanding, create a sustainable foundation for friendly relations, contribute to common development and deepen Vietnam-Japan relations in the new period.
