Lam Dong - On the occasion of National Day September 2nd, the number of tourists to Da Lat increased sharply, the police force strengthened traffic diversion, patrols, and maintained safety in the mountain town.

Mountain town bustlingly welcomes visitors

On August 30, the National Day holiday just started, but the number of tourists to Da Lat has increased sharply. From the gateway routes to the central area, cars with license plates from many provinces and cities connect each other on the roads.

The attraction of Da Lat during this year's holiday is further enhanced when Lien Khuong International Airport resumed operations from August 19, after more than 5 months of suspension to repair runways and taxiways.

The resumption of flights opens up another direction to bring tourists to the mountain town.

At Hung Vuong, Tran Hung Dao, Bui Thi Xuan streets and Lam Vien Square area, traffic is crowded.

Extended cars and motorbikes carrying luggage create a bustling atmosphere during holidays.

Amidst the bustling traffic flow, traffic police and ward police continuously stayed at checkpoints, regulating vehicles, guiding tourists and handling points at risk of congestion.

To prepare for the peak of September 2nd, the Lam Dong tourism industry strengthens inspection of business activities of services, accommodation, food, transportation and room rates, limiting abnormal price increases.

According to Mr. Ton Thien San - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, the tourism industry has early guided localities and business establishments to prepare facilities, services and human resources, ready to serve tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, owner of a hotel on Bui Thi Xuan street, Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, said that the demand for rooms during holidays increased by more than 50% compared to normal days. However, room rates only adjusted slightly, without major fluctuations.

Straining to keep peace for tourists

To ensure security, order and traffic safety during the September 2nd holiday, Lam Dong Provincial Police strengthened forces at roads, crowded areas and tourist attractions.

In the center of Da Lat, the Traffic Police Department coordinated with the Police of wards to arrange forces at intersections with large vehicles, continuously diverting traffic, regulating, guiding tourists and handling arising situations.

Mobile patrol teams are also strengthened on key routes, focusing on handling violations, especially stopping and parking vehicles improperly causing congestion.

Ms. Tran Thi Nghin, a tourist from Tuyen Quang, said that although the number of vehicles is large, thanks to the traffic police's guidance and timely regulation, she and her group of friends are assured when renting motorbikes to travel to admire the scenery in Da Lat.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thu - Head of Madaguoi Traffic Police Station, said that at Bao Loc Pass, the unit strengthens patrols and inspections, proactively handles situations, and ensures safety for people and tourists.

In addition to traffic, the Criminal Police Department coordinates with the Police of central wards to strengthen patrols at sightseeing spots, entertainment areas, tourist streets and accommodation establishments; proactively prevent theft, fraud, and robbery.

Accommodation establishments are reminded to strictly implement regulations on registration, visitor management, raise vigilance and promptly notify abnormal signs.

Behind the bustling atmosphere of Da Lat during the holidays are day and night shifts of functional forces, contributing to keeping the mountain town safe, so that people and tourists have a complete vacation.
