On the morning of October 13, the Department of Physical Education and Sports in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province and other units, organized the opening ceremony of the National Tennis Championship - NovaWorld Cup 2025 in Lam Dong province.
The tournament brings together more than 100 professional tennis players from 14 strong units and clubs nationwide. The tournament is also an important event to select athletes to represent Vietnam to participate in the SEA Games.
Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that sports are one of the important pillars in the local human and economic development strategy.
"The province will continue to create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, infrastructure and policies to attract more major tournaments and sports events and businesses accompanying the movement. Thereby, aiming to build Lam Dong into a tourism - sports - cultural - resort center of the area" - Mr. Minh shared more.
The tournament lasts from now until October 19. Athletes will compete in 5 events: Men's singles, Women's singles, Men's doubles, Women's doubles and Men's - Women's doubles at the NovaWorld International Tennis Complex international standard tennis court system near Tien Thanh beach. The total prize value is up to 500 million VND.
After the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the competition. In the hot weather next to the sea wind, there are times when it rains to cool down.
The tournament not only contributes to raising the level of professional tennis in Vietnam, but also affirms the role of tennis in developing tourism, culture and the community, creating momentum to promote the local economy.
