San Diu Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Voong Tre village, Binh Dan commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh province officially came into operation on December 8.
The Cultural Village includes a 5-room, 2-storey traditional house on an area of 300m², where artifacts and tools associated with the life of the San Diu people are displayed.
The project is to renovate the old cultural house, adding items such as the road leading to the village, festival yard, village gate, cultural heritage gallery and modern sound and lighting system.
This is part of Plan No. 161/KH-UBND dated June 21, 2023 of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province on "Piloting the construction, preservation and promotion of cultural identity values of 4 ethnic minority villages associated with community tourism development in mountainous areas of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2023-2025".
Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, a series of traditional cultural, artistic and sports activities and booths displaying local agricultural products attracted a large number of locals and tourists. In particular, a famtrip delegation of 40 Chinese travel agencies and tourism associations participated in the experience, opening up opportunities to promote the local image to the international market.
Previously, on December 1, in Tien Yen district, Quang Ninh province, a ceremony was held to receive the certificate of recognition from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, confirming the folk performing art of Soong Co singing of the San Diu ethnic group as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Mr. To Dang Luu, Secretary and Chairman of Binh Dan Commune People's Committee, shared: "After forming the cultural village, the commune will promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in developing community tourism, both preserving cultural identity and creating sustainable livelihoods, increasing income for people".
In addition to San Diu ethnic village, 3 other ethnic minority villages are being implemented, including: Dao ethnic village in Po Hen hamlet, Hai Son commune (Mong Cai city); Tay ethnic village in Ban Cau hamlet, Luc Hon commune (Binh Lieu district); and San Chi ethnic village in Luc Ngu hamlet, Huc Dong commune (Binh Lieu district).
This project not only preserves unique cultural values but also promotes community tourism development, contributing to improving the spiritual life of ethnic minorities in Quang Ninh.
