Lao Cai - Northwest Tourism Fair and Space to promote and connect OCOP products gathers dozens of booths, cultural spaces and experiential activities.

On September 10, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee informed that the unit had just issued the Plan to organize the Northwest Tourism Fair 2026 and the Space for promoting and connecting OCOP products.

The event aims to promote the potential and strengths of culture and tourism of Lao Cai and the Northwest provinces to domestic and international people and tourists; and at the same time create opportunities for trade connections between localities, businesses and units operating in the tourism sector.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 9:30 am on September 26 at Gold Field Square, Nghia Lo ward.

According to the plan, the Northwest Tourism Fair 2026 is organized with 4 main spaces.

In which, the stage space and performance activities have an area of about 128m2, which is the venue for cultural and artistic programs and activities introducing the identity of localities.

The space to promote and connect OCOP products associated with regional tourism has an area of about 400m2, introducing typical products, OCOP products and products with potential to connect with tourism activities.

The space for promoting and advertising tourism and introducing typical tourism products of the expanded Northwest provinces is arranged with 65 standard booths.

This is an area for localities, businesses, and tourism service business units to introduce products, destinations and seek cooperation opportunities.

In addition, the exhibition space "Colors of Northwest Culture" includes 14 standard booths and 200m2 of tents of 7 communes and wards, combined with a book and reading culture area.

The simultaneous organization of tourism, OCOP and cultural spaces is expected to create a connection point between promoting destinations and local products, thereby increasing trade opportunities and attracting tourists.

One of the notable activities within the framework of the fair is the Final Round of the "Lao Cai - Touching the Peak of Taste" culinary program in 2026.

The program will have activities to display, evaluate and honor typical tourist dishes; and at the same time demonstrate the processing of dishes and specialties to serve people and tourists.

Through these activities, Lao Cai aims to deeply exploit the cultural and culinary values of the locality, turning the typical products of the highlands into an attractive experience on a tourist journey.

The 2026 Northwest Tourism Fair and the Space for promoting and connecting OCOP products are also opportunities for localities and businesses to strengthen links, introduce new products, expand markets and promote sustainable tourism development.
