On the afternoon of September 3rd, information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, during the National Day holiday on September 2nd (from August 29th to the end of September 2nd), the whole province is estimated to welcome 450,155 visitors, including 34,068 international visitors.
Total revenue from tourists reached approximately 2,211 billion VND, including 224.8 billion VND from international visitors and 1,986.3 billion VND from domestic visitors.
Sa Pa ward continues to be the most attractive destination, with about 150,500 visitors, an increase of 11% compared to the same period in 2025.
Room occupancy rate in 3-star and above accommodation establishments reached about 95%, mid-range segment about 82% and homestay about 85%.
Fansipan Sa Pa cable car tourist area welcomed more than 30,700 visitors, Cat Cat about 25,000 visitors. Bac Ha welcomed about 25,000 visitors, while Mu Cang Chai and Tu Le attracted nearly 27,000 visitors.


Notably, Bao Ha commune welcomed about 85,000 visitors during the holiday.
Accumulated to the end of September 2nd, Lao Cai welcomed about 9.47 million visitors, reaching 83.4% of the annual plan; total revenue from tourism reached about 38,452 billion VND, equal to 75.25% of the plan.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism activities during the holidays are safe, no food poisoning, price increases, price squeezing or complaints through hotlines are recorded.
However, the central area of Sa Pa ward still experienced local traffic congestion.
