After more than 10 years of organization, the Southern Folk Cake Festival is considered one of the typical cultural and tourism events of Can Tho City. The annual event is large-scale, usually taking place on the occasion of Hung Kings' Death Anniversary to honor, preserve and promote the unique cuisine of the Mekong Delta region.
In addition, this is also a playground for tourists from all directions, a place to connect generations in a common pride in the culinary heritage of the Nine Dragon land.
According to the plan of Can Tho City People's Committee, this year, the 13th Southern Folk Cake Festival takes place in 06 days, from April 26 - May 1 (ie, March 10-15 of the lunar calendar) in the area of Binh Thuy Ward Square and surrounding areas.

This year's festival is expected to have a scale of about 200 - 250 booths, including booths introducing folk cakes, cuisine, tourism, OCOP products, specialties, regional fruits...
The organizing committee plans to arrange about 50 support booths for guests who are partners, international organizations, diplomatic missions, consulates general, foreign businesses...; provinces and cities, establishments, folk cake artisans participating in preserving cakes and competing.
Within the framework of the Festival, the Opening Program of the Festival will take place; tourism promotion activities; culinary business serving guests.

The highlight is that this year, Can Tho City will implement the Southern Folk Cake Preservation Space at Binh Thuy Ward Square (in the Folk Cake Preservation Area).
Display activities creating art forms of Vietnam maps from 103 traditional Pia cakes, representing 103 communes and wards of Can Tho City. The model is implemented on a large scale in a decorative space with river and water motifs, Southern gardens, symbolizing community cohesion, the convergence of the quintessence of Southern folk cakes and the spirit of looking towards national roots.
