Tu Le Commune People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the "Coutumn Flavors of Tu Le" Copper Festival (Lao Cai) and build products to serve tourism development in 2026 to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, and at the same time promote tourism potential, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
According to the plan, the festival will take place in two days, August 22 and 23, 2026, at Lechamp campus, Nuoc Nong village, Tu Le commune (Lao Cai). The activities are organized in the direction of promoting national cultural identity, associated with tourism promotion, creating a vibrant atmosphere, attracting tourists and encouraging the participation of the community and businesses in local tourism development.
Within the framework of the festival, many activities will take place such as displaying cốm products and OCOP products; showing national costumes and the beauty of girls in the cốm land; displaying photos with the theme "Colors of Tu Le autumn"; night food market, agricultural product fair; worship ceremony "Celebrating New Rice"; cốm pounding contest, banh giay pounding, goat fighting and folk sports and games such as pushing sticks, stilt walking, climbing grass poles, blindfolded duck catching, bird fighting, tó mác lẹ, tu lu, pa pao. Visitors will also experience the process of making sticky rice flakes in Na Long village.
To prepare for the festival, Tu Le Commune People's Committee has assigned tasks to agencies and units in propaganda, landscape embellishment, infrastructure preparation, ensuring security and order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation and health. The locality also mobilized socialized resources to organize a solemn, practical, economical and effective festival.
Through the event, Tu Le commune aims to preserve traditional cultural values, build unique tourism products, promote the image of Tu Le land and people to domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development.
