Unique festival at a relic over 300 years old in Hai Phong

Hai Phong - On December 30th, Thien Huong ward opened the traditional ancient festival of Kien Bai communal house.

Kien Bai communal house was started in 1685 under the Later Le Dynasty. With ancient architecture and sophisticated carving systems, the communal house was ranked as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1986. Currently, the relic still preserves 19 imperial decrees and many precious artifacts such as stone collapses, hammock doors, horizontal panels, and parallel sentences.

The annual festival is an opportunity for people to express their gratitude to the Second Most Valuable God, Dao Loi Cong Dai Vuong, and Bich Ngoc Dai Vuong, who have contributed to reclamating land and establishing the prosperous Kien Bai village.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Cong Dien - Chairman of the Ward People's Committee emphasized: Kien Bai communal house is not only an ancient architectural work but also a historical witness, a solid symbol of the belief and vitality of the community through generations.

The festival is an opportunity for today's generations to express deep gratitude to their predecessors, and also a valuable opportunity to preserve and spread national cultural identity in modern life.

The Chairman of the Ward People's Committee called on the entire people to continue to unite, turn the pride in national-level relics into motivation to nurture love for their homeland, and arouse the desire to build Thien Huong to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized, worthy of the heroic tradition of their ancestors.

After the drumming ceremony to open the festival, delegates and people performed incense offering ceremonies and participated in traditional rituals such as Moc Duc ceremony, Nam Quan Tet Tet delegation. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented scholarships and support to households in difficult circumstances, spreading the humanistic values of the festival.

The highlight of this year's festival is a trade fair with colorful traditional stalls, displaying ao dai, calligraphy paintings, and artistic calligraphy. Coming to the festival, people and tourists can also experience unique cuisine with local specialties and specialties.
