Quan The Am Festival (taking place from April 4 to 7 - from the 17th to the 20th of the 2nd lunar month) continues to affirm itself as a typical cultural and religious event of the city, contributing to promoting the image of friendly and civilized Da Nang.
Inspecting the event preparation work, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, emphasized that this is a large-scale cultural, religious, and tourism event of the city. Agencies, units, and localities are highly focused, preparing carefully for the festival to take place successfully and solemnly.
At the campus of Quan The Am Pagoda, the main items have been basically completed, ready for the big festival.
The opening stage and art programs have been synchronously installed. The sound, lighting, and screen systems have been test-operated, ensuring stable operation. The ceremonial space is arranged solemnly, in harmony with the overall landscape, while the festival area is reasonably planned, meeting the needs of people and tourists.
Urban embellishment work is being accelerated. Roads leading to the festival area are decorated synchronously. Lighting systems, propaganda panels, electricity and water supply are being completed. Food, display, and exhibition areas are also being urgently completed.
The organizers said that the main contents have been completed, and they are currently focusing on reviewing, overall inspection and handling arising issues. Preparation work has been deployed early, specifically assigned and closely monitored, ensuring progress.
This year's festival has an expanded scale with more than 30 activities. Therefore, coordination and safety assurance are put first. Plans on security and order, traffic, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation and food safety are built in detail.
The festival takes place with many unique activities. Besides traditional rituals, the festival part includes artistic kite performances, boat racing on the Co Co River, bài chòi exchange, sạp dancing, village chess festival. A new highlight is the "Golden Lotus" vegetarian culinary competition, attracting the participation of many chefs.
In addition, cultural and artistic programs such as "Quan The Am Melody", painting and photo exhibitions and calligraphy activities take place throughout. The walk for peace program and flower car parade contribute to creating a vibrant atmosphere.
