After 4 days of operation, on the evening of June 21, the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival 2026 closed with the art program "Red Lotus Land - Reaching new heights".
With the theme "Returning to listen to the Lotus tell stories" - The festival is marked by many unique cultural, tourism, and trade promotion activities, attracting about 500,000 visitors, continuing to affirm the brand of typical cultural and tourism events of Dat Sen Hong.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee Bui Quoc Nam said that this year's Lotus Festival exceeded expectations in both scale and spread, contributing to promoting the image of Dong Thap, connecting businesses and promoting the development of the lotus industry.
The highlight of the festival is the elaborately staged opening program, combined with modern stage technology to tell the story of lotus and people of Dong Thap.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee announced the "Dong Thap" Geographical Indication for lotus products and set a Vietnam Record for the art portrait work "Nguyen Tat Thanh and his father Nguyen Sinh Sac - Before dawn (1911)", created specifically for the festival.
The exhibition space for lotus products, OCOP products and regional specialties gathers 126 units and businesses inside and outside the province; the seminar "From the lotus industry to the lotus economic ecosystem" gathers managers, scientists, businesses and farmers to find sustainable development solutions for the typical industry of Dong Thap.
Spreading the image of Dat Sen Hong
One of the new points of this year's festival is the effectiveness of communication on digital platforms.
Thousands of videos, images and articles shared on social networks, along with the companionship of many central and local press agencies, have contributed to bringing the image of Dat Sen Hong closer to the public at home and abroad.
According to the Organizing Committee, the success of the festival is not only measured by the number of attendees but also reflected in the solidarity of local people.
Images of streets filled with lotus colors, friendly smiles of people, the enthusiasm of volunteers and service forces have contributed to creating a "Festival in the hearts of the people", imbued with the cultural identity of Dong Thap.
Although the weather had many unfavorable developments with heavy rains and thunderstorms affecting outdoor activities, thanks to the proactiveness of the Organizing Committee and the joint efforts of soldiers, volunteers and people, the activities were still maintained safely, leaving many beautiful images of the solidarity and affection of the people of Dong Thap.
Throughout the festival, security and order were ensured, traffic was smooth, environmental sanitation and food safety were well implemented; the "Green - Clean - Civilized Festival" movement received positive response from the community.
Closing the closing night was the art program "Red Lotus Land - Reaching New Heights" with a hot air balloon lantern performance, closing four emotional festival days and opening up expectations for an increasingly professional and attractive Lotus Festival season, contributing to making Dong Thap a unique cultural and tourist destination of the Mekong Delta region.
However, according to the Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee, the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival has closed, but it is not the end point, but the beginning of a new journey.
The locality will continue to innovate organizational work, improve service quality, promote cultural, tourism and economic values from lotus trees; and at the same time wish each citizen to become an "ambassador" to promote the image of their homeland, and continue to spread beautiful stories about Dat Sen Hong" - Mr. Nam emphasized.
