On the afternoon of June 12, Cao Lanh ward held a press conference on the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival. Mr. Nguyen Hung Trang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Cao Lanh ward chaired the meeting. More than 20 reporters and newspapers attended.
According to the plan, from June 18 to 21, 2026, the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival will take place in Cao Lanh ward with the theme "To listen to Lotus tell stories", promising to bring a series of unique cultural, tourism, artistic and culinary activities, contributing to honoring the beauty and value of the symbolic flower of the Red Lotus Land. According to Mr. Nguyen Hung Trang, the festival is an opportunity to promote the image of Dong Thap lotus flowers, promote the cultural and economic value of lotus processed products; and promote agricultural development associated with tourism, creating attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
Festival activities will take place in many central locations such as Van Mieu Park, Van Mieu Square and Ly Thuong Kiet, Dang Van Binh, Ngo Thi Nham streets and some neighboring areas.
The highlight of the festival is the opening program taking place at 7 pm on June 186 at Van Mieu Square. Here, the ceremony to announce the "Dong Thap" geographical indication for lotus products will take place along with a unique art program, introducing the cultural beauty, people and development potential of the locality. The closing ceremony will be held on the evening of June 21.
Throughout the festival, people and tourists will have the opportunity to visit and experience many unique spaces such as "Lotus Road", "Lotus Food Street", the lotus industry value chain display area, OCOP products and art and photography exhibitions with the theme "Lotus Fragrance of the Water Region".
Besides, there are a series of attractive cultural and artistic activities such as the Ao Dai Lotus parade with the theme "Lotus Fragrance - Vietnamese Figure", art balloon performances, street festival "Lotus Colors Down the Street", "Red Lotus Steps" Festival, Don ca tai tu performance, liveband program and recycling costume contest "Lotus Tells Green Stories".
Not only is it a cultural festival, the Dong Thap Lotus Festival is also a forum for connecting trade and startups. Many thematic activities will be organized such as supply and demand connection conferences, seminars "Red Lotus Land connects to reach far", seminars on green consumption trends and promoting the value of the lotus industry in youth's innovative startups.
In addition, the festival also has sports and experiential activities such as cooking contests, trekking in the lotus season, Pickleball Social tournaments, creating healthy playgrounds, strengthening exchanges and community connection.
Currently, propaganda and street decoration with the theme "Lotus in the street" and the festival brand identity system are being urgently completed by relevant units.
With many rich activities, the 3rd Dong Thap Lotus Festival in 2026 not only contributes to promoting the image of the Red Lotus Land homeland but is also an opportunity to introduce the unique cultural and tourism values of the locality to friends and tourists from near and far, true to the meaningful message: "Return to listen to the Lotus tell stories".
